A couple of different ways will work. You could use the distortion tool directly on the pic and smooth it out. Or you could open another layer and then paint on that layer with a soft oil brush. Use the eyedropper tool to select the nearby skintone, then use oil details brush set at 20-30% opacity and just go over the spots like you would with makeup. Make sure to reselect color when you move around. If there's some spots on the nose and some on the cheek- they'll be different colors of skin.

more ways...

Additionally you can use the "Stamp Tool" and copy intact skin with the same colour over the acne. In this process you can use opacity to get better results.

If the whole face is full of acne you can do this:
Copy the face with the "Lasso Tool" on a second layer. Just copy the skin of the face without eyes, mouth, hair, eyebrows and so on. I know, it will be work. You must add and subtract different cuttings and it could be useful to work with the "Selections Palette". On the new layer you can use the "Blur Filter" or (this would be the better way) "Gaussian Blur Filter" to smooth the whole copied skin. With this labour technik the mouth, eyes... will stay sharp (because they are on the background layer). If neccessary you can change the opacity of the skin-layer or make some further changes. After you have finished you can merge the layers again.

...But for this work it would be helpful, if Artweaver can manage a mask mode. Then it would be much easier.
