Language problem

Beitragvon LBM » Do Mai 08, 2008 1:16 am

I am a newbie to Artweaver - downloaded it a few days ago. I have found it to be an excellent system. Being a newbie I was making many mistakes and found the default setting of 8 undo steps too few.

I went into Options and changed them to 20 undo steps. When I saved the changes, the system decided that I really wanted text in German. I know a little German, but nowhere near enough to be able to use Artweaver properly.

I tried unistalling and reinstalling it, but it made no difference, so I looked for a registry key that might be keeping the language setting. No luck there. The files in Application Data don't seem to have any language reference either.

I have run out of ideas. I would very much like to use Artweaver for a demonstration of digital art software to my art society on 22nd May, but I won't be able to unless I can revert to English (there is not enough time to learn German and Artweaver!).

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

It seems that you have accidentally changed the default language of Artweaver. To switch back to english, do the follwing:
  • start Artweaver
  • click on Bearbeiten -> Optionen
  • in the upper left box switch to Sprache
  • set the value for Aktive Sprache to English
  • now after a restart, Artweaver should be English again

Excellent. Thank you.

I tried the Help (which by this time had become Hilfe of course) and tried "sprache" in the index and the search without any luck.

Given the method of setting it back to English, I have no idea how I finished up in German. I changed only the History States, or so I thought.

Thank you once again.

I had the same problem... I downloaded Artweaver, but it was in German by default (even though I had checked "English" during the download process).

I think the default language should be English. I'm not selfish here, English isn't my mother tongue neither, but if you guys really want to be successful worldwide, it should be set to English by default.
